Sometimes Family Knows Best

Let’s just say juggling a kid and a small business can be as challenging as blowing bubbles with no bubble gum in your mouth. We all want to give 100% to our kids and 100% to our growing business. In the end, we all too often feel overwhelmed by the whole experience or view ourselves as failures in both departments. We start asking questions like…

  • Should I be growing a business right now instead of raising my kids?
  • Should a nanny raise my kids so I can make money to support a family?
  • Should I drop this whole work less, earn more agenda?

I’ve come to realize that there’s another resource out there to help get it all done in a crazed world… family! Sure we all have tensions from time to time among family members, but who better to…

  • Fold some laundry and put away some dishes when you fall behind
  • Watch your little guy on short notice when a business meeting comes up
  • Remind you that you’re still a great parent and businessperson even on dark days

So I say stop fretting about extended family members stirring up tensions and extend a hand for help. As Hillary Clinton likes to say… it takes a village!
