So What are You Waiting For?

It seems many folks I talk to believe there will be some magical sign when it’s time to go for it and build a working less, earning more lifestyle. Maybe a plane will fly overhead with a banner announcing… “give up your day job… follow your dreams.” Or maybe your employer will offer you a golden parachute, say two year’s salary, to walk away and build the life you imagined.

Unfortunately, planes with motivational banners and overly considerate bosses are hard to come by. The decision is all yours. There will never be a perfect moment. Your ducks will never be perfectly in a row. Your parents will never say “we have absoluletly no worries about you going it alone.”

I’ve found over time the only one stopping you is you. So if you’re waiting for the perfect moment to make a major life change, ask yourself if you’re really planning to act or just waiting on the sidelines. Instead of ready, aim, fire… consider ready, fire, aim. You’ll find yourself jumping into action that much sooner and building the life you always imagined.
