No Monday Blues for Me

When I worked in my corporate gig that first day back at work after the holiday season was such a drag.  I was coming off one or two weeks of vacation, of freedom, of not thinking about work!  Suddenly you’re sitting back at your desk, already behind on to-do’s, and wondering where your vacation went.  Winter is in full force and you can’t help but feel a little down about the corporate grind.

Today should be another one of those doldrum Mondays after the holiday season but I don’t even feel a whisker of sadness over getting back to work.  Since I’ve built my working less, earning more lifestyle, it hardly feels like work in the first place.  So getting back to it feels fun, exciting, invigorating.

How about you?  Does today feel like a great day or the beginning of another long year in your cubicle?  If you’re feeling down about what lies ahead, why not do something about it?  Do you really have to gut it out for another year just to earn a paycheck?  Maybe, must maybe, this is the year you take control of your career and turn work into more than just a paycheck.  Think about it… and if you want to do more than think than be sure to check out Bold Road for the latest tips on making it so!

Jeff, thank for “Working Less, Earning More.” I waved your book at a class of 40 unemployed professionals Monday morning and got a great deal of interest. Hope it helps sell books. Inspired me to avoid rushing out to get a new job after a December 1st layoff and instead write a book which has been edited by two professionals and is ready for the road. I will self-publish PDFs for distribution through my new http://www.TerraPublishingHouse.com and Amazon.com, but I would love to see if I can interest Alpha/Penguin. My potential market is one million people, this book’s approach does not exist, and it is worthwhile and tested: I used the methods to drop an ad budget from $50k to $15k while increasing sales by $5 million in 2008 in a rough industry. Any direction would be appreciated. Thank you and regards. Dianne
