9 Questions for 2009
Posted by Jeff Cohen on December 29th, 2008
Two days to go before the new year. That means it’s time for those infamous New Year’s Resolutions. You know… the ones you swear you’ll stick to only to give up after a few weeks when the craziness of life kicks in. I tend to be a realist and that’s why I make my goals big yet practical. Not so big you give up before beginning but not so small that you’ve accomplished it by January 3rd.
So as we head into 2009, here are nine working less, earning more questions to ask yourself to get you on the road to living the life you always imagined:
- Could you setup a flexible working arrangement in your current job, say telecommuting or a compressed week?
- Could you repackage your skill set to land consulting gigs and get paid handsomely for those hard earned skills?
- Could you purchase an investment property and start earning cash flow from rental tenants?
- Could you write articles or newspaper columns based on your knowledge to start generating freelance income?
- Could you invent a new product and license the idea to a manufacturer to start earning royalties on your idea?
- Could you land a book deal to share your story and earn both an upfront advance and royalties based on sales?
- Could you develop an online product or service to start selling through the Internet to generate passive income?
- Could you take a sabbatical from your job to clear your head, follow a passion, and recharge your batteries?
- Could you do any of the above to take charge of your career and build the life you’ve always imagined?
Tackle these questions in the next couple of days and you’ll be on your way to working less and earning more… not the other way around!
